Where is SNOMED CT used?

SNOMED CT is used within an electronic health record to capture information about a patient’s health at the point of care.

SNOMED CT is a clinical terminology and not a replacement for existing classifications such as ICD-10/11 and OPCS-4, which are used following an episode of patient care. SNOMED CT gives clinical and care IT systems a single shared language.
